The Society

The Sutton Coldfield Musical Theatre Company prides itself in producing some of the highest quality non-professional shows around. We welcome new members – both young and not so young! You must be 16 years of age by the time of the first show you wish to take part in.

Not only are there opportunities to perform on stage, but you could also get involved with props, costumes, prompting, backstage, promotions and lots more. In order to become a performing member, you will need to undergo a short audition to show off your acting, singing and dancing abilities. But don't panic – a recent new member said, "I was a bit nervous about the audition, but the panel made me feel relaxed, and really encouraged me to do well. I was so pleased when I received the letter saying I'd got in!"

Why not come along to a rehearsal to find out if this is the hobby you’ve been searching for? You never know, it could be the start of a stage career – some of our past members have gone on to have starring roles in the West End!

There’s also a great social side including barbecues, Christmas dinner dance, London theatre trips, camping, and of course a well earned drink at the pub after rehearsals! Rehearsals usually take place at Four Oaks Junior School at 7.30pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. Sometimes this varies, so to obtain more information, email cc@scmtc.co.uk.
